Reclaiming Water.
Clean water is the foundation of life. It sustains us, nourishes our communities, and supports the ecosystems essential to our survival. Every drop connects people, agriculture, and industry, ensuring resilience for generations to come.
By reclaiming water and eliminating waste, 374Water is working to protect humanity’s most vital resource while advancing sustainability and progress.
Who We Are
374Water is a cleantech and industrial services company providing innovative solutions for organic waste destruction and sustainable wastewater treatment within Federal, Municipal and Industrial markets in full compliance with environmental regulations.
Our patented technology completely and sustainably destroys non-hazardous and hazardous contaminants, converting waste into clean, reusable water, inert minerals, and recovered energy.
Our Story
Our name – 374Water – pays tribute to 374° Celsius – the critical point at which water transitions into a supercritical state, by unlocking its ability to break down hazardous and non-hazardous organic wastes, efficiently and cleanly.
Our proven and proprietary AirSCWO (supercritical water oxidation) technology works by tapping into the water’s unique properties at its critical point, 374°C / 705°F. It destroys contaminants and converts waste into clean, reusable water, inert minerals, and recoverable energy. Our process’s effluents are free of emissions, PFAS (“Forever Chemicals,”), and residue, regardless of waste type.

374Water’s AirSCWO technology was originally developed in 2013 by Dr. Marc Deshusses at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. The innovation was created in response to a challenge from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to design a system that could be deployed in developing countries to provide clean drinking water and safe wastewater treatment.
Dr. Deshusses, together with his collaborator Kobe Nagar, proposed a solution based on supercritical water oxidation. Recognizing the potential of the concept, the Gates Foundation provided initial funding to the university to advance the technology. The first unit was capable of processing up to one wet ton of waste per day.

Professor Deshusses and Kobe sold the rights to the technology to 374Water. Four patents and seven pending patents later, the technology has been implemented successfully in projects spanning nearly 190 different waste streams providing the ability to destroy all manner of organic waste at commercial scale.

374Water went public and was listed on the NASDAQ.

374Water sells and builds their the first commercial scale unit in Komomo, IN.

the company recruited new leadership to further evolve the AirSCWO technology, create multiple product lines/solutions, build out operations, and scale 374Water across the Municipal, Federal, Industrial, and Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (TSDF) markets.
During this same year, an AirSCWO 6 (AS 6) modular unit was deployed at the Iron Bridge wastewater treatment facility operated by the City of Orlando in Oviedo, FL.

374Water operates multiple commercial scale AirSCWO systems and has executed numerous contracts for the destruction of wastes including sludges/biosolids, Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) and AFFF rinse water, Granular Activated Carbon (GAC), Ion Exchange resin (IX), and landfill leachate for Municipal, Federal, and Industrial customers.

374Water currently has clients and partners across federal, municipal and industrial markets.
